Manager Dave Challinor has issued a squad registration update ahead of AFC Fylde’s FA Trophy final on May 19th against Leyton Orient.

With three players cup-tied and others expected to miss out through long-term injuries, the playing squad was no doubt missing key personnel.

“It’s not been ideal and we’ve had to change the team throughout the Trophy run throughout the course of the season,” said Challinor.

“But it got to a time with deadlines where we had to register [players] to make sure we’re covered in terms of numbers.”

“So as well as recalling James Hardy from Halifax, I’ve registered myself for the final – although depending on how the game goes I’m hopefully not needed.”

“To play at the Old Wembley and New Wembley would be a great honour, and one that I’m potentially looking forward to.”

The Coasters visit to Wembley on May 19th will see them bid to become the first team in history to win both the FA Vase and FA Trophy.

Details of two special packages being run by the club were announced last week, which are on sale from the club shop now.

*10:30am update: As much as we would love that long throw at Wembley, this was, of course, an April Fools Day prank!*
