The programme, which is delivered in partnership with Fylde and Wyre CCG, Lancashire County Council and supported by The Football Conference Trust, is delivered throughout the borough of Fylde with participants taking part in the following engagement activities;

Curriculum Education programme – working with 23 Fylde primary schools, The Foundation’s committed and experienced Health and Wellbeing team have engaged with 760 year 5 pupils, who have benefited from a range of educational and physical activity programmes, delivered within school settings over a set 5 week period, within an academic year.

Family Engagement programme – following on from The Foundation’s curriculum education programme, parents and children who would like to learn more about living and healthy lifestyle and taking part in family physical activity are provided with the opportunity to enroll onto a free family learning course. The course which takes place within the Fylde community provides families with the opportunity to develop and learn as a whole family.

Fit as a Fiddle activity programme- working closely with AGE UK and a locally based friendship group, ‘Just Good Friends’ The Foundation’s ‘Get on Board’ programme provides Fylde Coast residents with the opportunity to engage in twice weekly fitness and activity classes. The aims of these classes are to break down social isolation, and provide a platform for community integration, in a safe and welcoming environment. This element of the ‘Get on Board’ programme has proven to be extremely successful, with each session engaging with on average 20 attendees.

The Foundation are extremely proud of how successful the ‘Get on Board’ programme is, and over the next month will be launching new and exciting strands of this programme! For more information please visit www.afcfyldefoundation.co.uk .
