AFC Fylde will be hoping to build on their solid start to the season when they visit newly-relegated Altrincham this evening.

The Coasters kicked off the season with an impressive 1-0 victory away at AFC Telford, courtesy of Danny Rowe’s second-half goal.

Brackley Town were the visitors at Mill Farm at the weekend as Fylde walked out at the new stadium for the first time and they threatened to crash the party with an opening goal against the run of play.

However, a late towering header from debutant Steve Williams earned the Coasters a share of the spoils.

Fylde currently sit in 11th place in the table however, following the rearrangement of the Salford City fixture last week, have a game in hand on most of the sides above.

The hosts have made a consistent if not unremarkable start to the new campaign with three consecutive 2-2 draws.

Alty suffered late heartbreak against promoted Darlington FC on the opening day. After netting what they thought was an 89th minute winner, Altrincham conceded deep into stoppage time to deny them victory.

They were subjected to another late equaliser in their second match against highly-fancied Halifax Town after twice leading in the match, however roles were reversed last time out when they bagged a 92nd minute leveller away at fellow promotion hopefuls Harrogate Town.
