Fylde Ladies entertain Middlesbrough in the final Premier League game of the season at Mill Farm on Sunday (14th May, k/o 2pm).

Conrad Prendergast’s side suffered heartbreak in the LFA Challenge Trophy final last time out, but the manager insists he’s determined for his team to finish the season on a high against their second-placed visitors.

Prendergast said: “Both teams will be looking to end the season strongly and I want us to play with the same desire, attitude and work ethic that they displayed in the Cup Final recently.

“That, for me, was fantastic to see and something I am keen to see more of on a regular basis.

“Middlesbrough won the reverse fixture and their frontline is firing on all cylinders at the moment, but we are going to make sure they find it tough this afternoon.

“As demonstrated in the final against Blackburn, we are a very strong side defensively and can be very tough to break down. Our defensive capabilities are a big advantage for us and something that I am very proud of.

“The real question for me is whether we can be a threat going forward … have we got a player that can put the ball in the back of the net in the big games?

“It is the last game of the season but the pressure isn’t off yet. We want to win every game and ensure we finish in the highest possible position. And it would be great to sign off with three points in front of our fans.
