AFC Fylde picked up a well-earned three points away at Guiseley AFC last Saturday, and boss Jim Bentley is looking forward to returning to Mill Farm tomorrow afternoon.
Here’s what he told afcfylde.co.uk this afternoon…
“It’s great to be back playing competetive football infront of fans at home again – it’s been a long time coming. We’ve had a positive start and we are now looking to build on that. The players have been training really well this week; they seem as though they’re all in good spirits and there’s good competition for places.
“I’ve been impressed by Boston from what I saw last season and the business that they’ve done in the summer months. I should imagine that they will be there or there abouts come the end of the season. Although they lost the opening game, we’re well aware of the qualities they have. They would give any team at this level a problem, but I’m sure their manager is saying the exact same about us, so it will make for an exciting game.
“Starting the season with three points gets you off the mark, which is always nice. We have an unbeaten record at home that we are really keen on continuing. We’re trying to build a bit of a siege mentality, not just from within the football club on a day-to-day basis, but also with the fans as well. I have always said that they are the most important people. They are the ones who spend their hard-earned cash on a Saturday, and we want to enjoy their saturday afternoons”
“It’s all about getting back to where we think we deserve to be, and that starts tomorrow.”
