We are pleased to confirm young Coasters defender Jack Byrne has signed a new one-year deal at Mill Farm, with the Club holding the option of an extra year in their favour.

Jack commits his immediate future to the Coasters ahead of the 2022/23 National League North campaign and gives James Rowe’s side a further boost.

A product of the AFC Fylde Academy, Byrne first signed professional terms in 2020 after catching the eye with some impressive, consistent performances at youth level.

Loan spells with Lancaster City & Kendal Town have contributed to Jack gaining valuable experience at senior level after a disruptive first season in a Coasters shirt due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

After signing his new deal, Byrne said: “Since joining the Club, I have enjoyed my time both with the academy and then progressing through to sign my first professional contract in 2020.

“I’m excited to have signed my new contract, and I am looking forward to playing first-team football and gaining valuable experience and guidance from the gaffer (James Rowe).

“I would like to thank the gaffer for giving me this opportunity and to both Chris Ganner & Conrad Prendergast for their constant and ongoing support during my four years at AFC Fylde.”
