AFC Fylde were the winners of the Conference North Fairplay Award at the National League end of season awards at Celtic Manor.

Discipline is fundamental in the ethos of the club from the very top and manager Dave Challinor has always championed his players to not collect needless bookings or cards throughout the campaign.

The Coasters clinched the award with Bromley getting the honours in Conference South and Dover Athletic in the Premier Division.

Manager Dave Challinor said: “‘It was great to be rewarded with the Fair Play award at yesterday’s AGM. Discipline and respect is something we pride ourselves upon and is something we demand from the players. Their commitment to this over the past three and a half years has been excellent and awards in every season has been testament to that.”

A second boost came for the club when three players were named in the Team of the Year.

Ben Hinchcliffe, Josh Langley and Brad Barnes were all picked in the best team of the season by the fellow clubs within the league.

All three players played an integral part in The Coasters second place finish in the Conference North last season and have been duly recognised for their outstanding performances.
