AFC Fylde’s pre season schedule has been finalised with less than three weeks until the squad return to training.

Manager Dave Challinor has nine games to test his squad which has been strengthened by two additions so far – Dominic Collins and Matty Hughes.

The gaffer will also look at trialists in the pre-season training and match environment, but will also cast his eye on the younger players coming through the ranks at the club.

The pre-season schedule has been altered slightly with Connah’s Key unable to host a fixture, but the manager is confident with what he has arranged to have his players in tip-top shape and focus.

He said: “With the Vanarama National League North kicking off on Saturday 8th August. We had hoped to do a ‘double header’ over in Wales on the 18th July but unfortunately another event at Connahs Quay has resulted in them being unable to host the game.

“The pre season games will see a mixture of some really promising young lads that will get an opportunity, alongside the senior lads we have and there will be the odd trialist mixed in. We are almost there as a squad and I only envisage one or two more additions, this providing we don’t lose anyone between now and the start of the season.”
