AFC Fylde continue their pre-season programme this Sunday, 12th July as they host League One side Rochdale at Kellamergh Park.

Rochdale visited Kellamergh Park last pre-season, which was coincidently also on July 12th, and came away with a 2-1 victory thanks to goals from youngster Callum Camps and another from Scott Tanser, with a trialist scoring with five minutes remaining for The Coasters. Fylde will be hoping to reverse the score this Sunday as they look to build on an impressive victory over Fleetwood Town on Thursday.

That win over local rivals Fleetwood Town was The Coasters first game of pre-season and a solitary goal from last season’s Young Player of the Season, Dion Charles was enough to see Fylde get a win under their belts against a Football League side. It was also a chance for Coasters fans to see new signings Dom Collins and Matty Hughes in action for the first time and both played their part in securing a victory over their Fylde Coast neighbours.

The Coasters should have all of the players who played against Fleetwood Town available for this game, and Josh Langley could also be available after missing Thursday’s match. Club captain Bradley Barnes is still away and will miss this match but it will be another opportunity for the Coasters fans to see new signings Dom Collins and Matty Hughes available in action, along with mainstays Matty Blinkhorn, Caspar Hughes, Adam Sumner and Danny Lloyd.

Fylde finished the Conference North season in second place last time around and will be hoping to go one better in this campaign. They got off to the perfect start against Fleetwood, and they will be hoping to make it two victories out of two against Football League opposition. Rochdale also had a successful 2014-15 season as they finished eighth in League One, their highest ever league finish and they will be surely looking to build on that this coming season.

For the visitors Rochdale this will be their first pre-season fixture after they spent some time away in Tenerife on a training camp. It will be a chance for their manager Keith Hill to take a first look at new signings Donal McDermott, Jim McNulty and Lewis Alessandra. A lot of the squad that came to Kellamergh Park last summer for the pre-season friendly then are likely to be in the squad this time around too. Ashley Eastham, Joe Rafferty, Scott Tanser, Callum Camps and Joe Bunney all played in the game between these two sides twelve months ago and are likely to feature on Sunday.

While The Coasters continue their pre-season with games against, Bolton, Blackburn, Bamber Bridge, Nantwich Town, Skelmersdale United and Airbus UK, Rochdale are due to face Chester, Macclesfield, Accrington, Blackburn and Huddersfield.

Admission prices for the game are as follows

The match will kick off at 14:00PM.

Your support was exceptional last season and we’d love to see that support continue on Sunday by seeing as many Coasters fans at the game to support the lads as the pre-season schedule continues.
