This Easter half-term has seen the popular Sports and Arts Academies organised by the AFC Fylde Community Foundation go from strength to strength.

The Foundation’s half-term academies, delivered in association with the Frank Whittle Partnership Group, took place at St. Peters Primary School, Lytham and Willows Primary School, Kirkham.

The academies are provided for boys and girls aged between 5-12 from across the Fylde Coast, with the mission to get as many children as possible involved in sports and games or a range of performing arts during the school holidays.

The camps are all inclusive and catered for all ages and abilities and the Foundation team were rewarded with smiles all around at the end of the fun-packed days.

The Foundation’s academies have also seen a huge growth in numbers, hitting an impressive number of children each week at the combined locations. The Foundation has seen children come through the doors and leave with new found confidence and friends each and every week – which has proved a massive incentive for the enthusiastic and committed team.

Programme’s like this however would not have been possible without the help of official partner, The Frank Whittle Partnership Group.

Foundation Director Tom Hutton is understandably proud of the success the half term academies are seeing and said “The sports and arts academies are something we take great pride in at the Foundation. It’s a great feeling seeing children come through the door for an action packed week and leave having bettered their skills and made new friends in the process.”

“I would just like to say a big thank you to the Frank Whittle Partnership Group for their continued support of our half term academies, as without them it wouldn’t be possible.”
