AFC Fylde v Chorley

Saturday 26th December, 2016, k/o 3pm

Mill Farm

Vanarama National League North

It’s almost time for the most eagerly-anticipated fixture of the season – our top of the table Boxing Day cracker against Chorley!

The match has already smashed our attendance record of 1,935 – set against Harrogate Town in October – with pre-sales of over 3,000.

Fylde currently sit seven points clear at the top of the National League North at Christmas with just one defeat in 21 league games.

Last time out in the league, Fylde were comfortable 5-1 winners away at Gloucester City despite trailing the match inside the opening two minutes. James Hardy notched his eighth goal of the season from midfield with some fantastic play whilst Danny Rowe brought his tally to an incredible 35 in all competitions with two goals at Whaddon Road.

Chorley have made a strong start themselves and currently sit in third place, nine points behind the Coasters. The Magpies are unbeaten in their last six league outings – their last defeat coming against Stockport County in October.

Boxing Day sees the league’s top scorers and the meanest defence go head-to-head. Fylde have netted 66 league goals this season whilst Chorley boast the best defensive record having conceded just 15 times.

The honours were even last season as the sides won a game each. Rowe netted the decisive goal in a 1-0 victory at Kellamergh Park, whilst Chorley came from two-goals down to earn a 3-2 win at Victory Park.
