The Coasters are straight back into action in the Vanarama National League today (Monday 26th) as Harrogate Town visit Mill Farm.

After back-to-back defeats for the first time in the league since November 2018, Dave Challinor’s side will be desperate to put that right.

The Opposition

Name: Harrogate Town FC

Form: DWLLLW

Nickname: Sulphurites

Ground: Wetherby Road

League Position: 14th

Harrogate Town had a great start to life in the National League last season, finishing in the top seven, and making playoffs.

The arrivals of Connor Hall from Brackley and George Smith from Chesterfield have gone some way to bolstering the Town defence, however the loss of Callum Howe for a club record fee to Solihull Moors will have been a massive set back.

Experienced striker John Stead will no doubt add plenty of steel to the dressing room, whilst Brendan Kiernan’s acquisition from Welling Town will certainly add to their attacking threat.

One to Watch

Mark Beck

Standing at 6ft 5 inches, the towering attacker is always a threat for Town from set-pieces and crosses.

Formerly of Carlisle and Yeovil Town, Beck notched 13 goals last year alongside strike partner Muldoon, who himself grabbed 15.

Beck has two so far for the season, including the opening goal in Town’s 2-1 win against Stockport County on Saturdau.

Head-to-Head

This will be the 13th time the two sides have met – last season the Coasters had the better of the encounters, ultimately winning in the Playoff eliminator.
