The Coasters are once again on the road this Tuesday night looking to extend their unbeaten league run to seven games. Last time out the Coasters travelled down to Hampshire to face Eastleigh FC and came back with all three points.

Josh Kay put the Coasters in front just before half-time after good build-up play with Joe Westley allowed Kay to have time and space to place the ball into the bottom corner. Nick Haughton doubled The Coasters lead just after half-time with a well-worked move which included a one-two with Connor Barrett and finished with Nick finishing expertly to double our lead on the road. Ben Reeves halved The Coasters lead in the 74th minute after a clearance fell at his feet and he finished with confidence.

Another boost for the Coasters was the announcement that Ethan Mitchell would be extending his stay with the Coasters until the end of the season.

Ethan joined us on loan from Wigan and has really held his own in the midfield and contributed a lot to this run that the Coasters are currently on. However, the Coasters travel down back to Hampshire this Tuesday and will be looking to spoil the playoff party for Aldershot Town.

Aldershot are currently unbeaten in the league since the new year and manager Tommy Widdrington is no stranger when it comes to facing Fylde. With both teams hitting form, this could be a game which will not lack entertainment.

The Opposition

The Shots are certainly going down as dark horses for promotion this season, going under everyone’s radar whilst picking up the points which will be crucial come the end of the season.

Tommy Widdrington has got his side playing some excellent football which is sending them on an upwards trajectory rather than a downward one.

As well as taking points off other rivals around them, Aldershot can go and beat teams by a few goals. Last time out the Shots came from behind to win at Halifax Town and a win this Tuesday will be massive.

Classic Clash

This week’s classic clash takes us back to a miserable overcast day on the 10th of March 2018 when Dave Challinor’s side took a good Aldershot side to the cleaners. The Coasters led 5-1 at half-time which included a Danny Rowe Hat-trick. More drama followed in the second half as Sam Finley found himself getting sent off for celebrating a goal.

The Coasters added another two goals to finish the game 7-1.

Key Players

Josh Stokes – Stokes joined the side from AFC Sudbury in the summer and hasn’t looked back since scoring 13 goals in the league and earning himself a move to Championship side Bristol City. However, at this minute in time his sole priority will be getting the Shots back into the football league. His relationship on the pitch with Tolaj will be crucial in the Shots playoff push.

Ollie Harfield – The Left back has become a regular performer for the Shots making 47 appearances in the 2 seasons at the club. A man for the set pieces with an impressive delivery into the box has seen a high number of assists for Harfield.

Lorent Tolaj – Swapping the Alps for Hampshire, Tolaj joins the club after enjoying spells at a multitude of different clubs such as Brighton, Salford, Dundee and Sion. The Shots top scorer this season and Widdrington has really made the most of their attacking prowess which has fired them to the playoffs. If Tolaj is on form this Tuesday night, it could be a difficult night for the Coasters.
