The limelight is set to fall on local children thanks to an innovative new Performing Arts Academy about to be launched.

After months of hard work and planning, AFC Fylde Community Foundation have revealed plans to unveil a bespoke Performing Arts Academy that will provide both boys and girls with the opportunity to get involved in accredited classes, irrespective of ability.

The officially recognised IDTA and ISTD exam board accredited courses will be delivered against the backdrop of a first-class dance academy set-up.

The academy will cover all aspects of dance including ballet, modern and jazz as well as performing arts such as musical theatre, ensuring the diverse needs of students with varying abilities will be catered for.

The academy will be split into different categories for ‘Advanced Performers’, ‘Performers’ and ‘Pre Performers’ and staged each Saturday morning.  Extensive detail has been paid to ensure each children gets the most out of the individual sessions and leave having learnt new skills and had an enjoyable time.

The children will also have the additional opportunity to progress through the ranks by taking part in exam structured sessions at the academy, which will encourage and support the children in further developing skills in performing arts.

Foundation Director Tom Hutton is eager to get the new programme started. He said: “The Performing Arts Academy will provide great opportunities for all boys and girls. Although it will be delivered against an office dance academy backdrop it will provide a fun environment in which all involved will develop skills but enjoy themselves at the same time.”
