One of the Fylde’s fastest growing community foundation’s will continue to make a positive difference to young people’s lives this year thanks to the support of two prestigious corporate partners.

As principal and associate partners respectively, both BAE Systems and FWP Group will provide vital funding for a further two years to help the AFC Fylde Community Foundation extend its reach throughout the Fylde.

The Foundation, which works across the borough to educate, motivate and inspire future generations, relies heavily on corporate sponsorship to subsidise its free programme of sports camps and holiday club activities for 7,000 children and young adults every year.

Tom Hutton, Director of Community Development at AFC Fylde, commented: “We are thankful for this continued support from our corporate partners, which allows us to make a significant difference to the lives of children up and down the Fylde Coast.

“To have organisations with the calibre of BAE Systems and FWP Group on board is a huge testament to the hard work of everyone here at the foundation to make it such a success since its formation.”

BAE Systems has worked in partnership with the AFC Fylde Community Foundation since 2012 and has helped many of its outreach initiatives to flourish in that time, including its flagship public health improvement programme, Get On Board.

FWP Group, a multi-disciplinary construction consultancy based in Preston, is also behind the masterplan for the £18m 32-acre sports village site near Kirkham, which includes a new 6,000 seated stadium for AFC Fylde.
