AFC Fylde manager Dave Challinor could not hide his frustration after another late goal proved costly for his side.

The Coasters conceded in added time to slip to a 2-1 defeat at Macclesfield Town last night and Challinor insists late disappointment cannot continue.

Challinor said: “Yet again I sound like a broken record talking about not getting what we deserved from a game. Well maybe we did deserve it because we can’t keep saying the same thing over and over.

“We started the game well but conceded a poor goal which knocked us a bit. They got on top of us and had the better of the first half.

“We got together at half-time and we were much better after the break. After we scored there only looked like one winner for me. And once again that’s not the way the game has turned out.

“We have the ball on the halfway line in added time and the game could go either way. We switch off and one pass sees their striker go one-on-one with our goalkeeper and ultimately winning the game for them.

“It’s very, very disappointing. Things haven’t been going away and now we need to show some character. We have to move on quickly ahead of a really long trip to Eastleigh on Saturday. We need to start picking up points.”
