AFC Fylde’s first home game of the 2015/16 season sees them take on Hednesford Town at Kellamergh Park on Tuesday evening. (7.45pm)

The sides had contrasting fortunes on the opening day. The Coasters were beaten 3-0 at Solihull Moors on Saturday with Richie Allen sent off early on and a Stefan Moore brace and a Tom Hannigan own goal earnt the home side the win. Hednesford got their season up and running with a 2-1 win over Stalybridge Celtic at Keys Park with Curtis Tilt and Nathan Modest earning the Pitmen all three points.

Last season the Coasters earned three points against the Pitmen. Fylde won the first game 3-1 at the end of August at Kellamergh Park with Danny Rowe, Michael Potts and Richie Allen grabbing the goals. The reverse fixture saw Hednesford prevail 2-0 at Keys Park with James Hurst and Richard Batchelor scoring late on. The two sides also played each other in the FA Trophy Qualifying Rounds with the Coasters edging a five goal game 3-2, with new signing Josh Wilson grabbing his first goal for the club.

TEAM NEWS

As mentioned earlier, Richie Allen is suspended whilst Matty Hughes is still a doubt as he recovers from his toe injury at Nantwich and manager Dave Challinor has said that Hughes is more likely to feature on Saturday against Gainsborough Trinity. Josh Wilson and Richie Baker will be hoping to make their first starts of the season as will Matt Blinkhorn. The whole squad will be looking to bounce back with a win and prove that they should be starting as Dave Challinor has a much more flexible squad and has admitted that nobody is guaranteed of a place in the team.
