The AFC Fylde Community Foundation partnered up with The Stockport County Community Foundation on Saturday and gave 20 lucky children a day they will never forget.

AFC Fylde took on Stockport County at Kellamergh Park in the Vanarama Conference North on Saturday and The AFC Fylde Community Foundation agreed to take part in the ‘My Special Day’ event.

The event will saw 10 fans from each club participate in a range of stimulating activities – both pre-match and at half time.  As well as this, the 10 AFC Fylde fans selected by The Community Foundation received a free AFC Fylde kit and gave both sides a guard of honour as they walked onto the pitch ahead of kick off.

Tom Hutton, The Director of Community Development at the Foundation, worked tirelessly behind the scenes, along with Dave Wardle, manager at The Stockport County FC Community Foundation, to ensure this day was memorable for more than one reason.

Tom said, “Stockport County Community Trust, have kindly agreed to take part in the ‘My Special Day’ event, which has been allocated for this fixture.

“For those that are not familiar with the ‘My Special Day’ event, this is an event where ten lucky AFC Fylde supporters are selected to take part in a VIP treatment day, which sees them receive a free AFC Fylde kit, donated by The Foundation, and the opportunity to take part in a range of pre-match and half time activities.”
