AFC Fylde have signed Jamie Allen on loan from Fleetwood Town.

The 19 year old forward has signed initially until the start of December, and will be in the squad for tomorrow’s FA Cup game with Buxton. Allen has made five appearances for Fleetwood, scoring on his Football League debut and was loaned out to Barrow last season.

Manager Dave Challinor said: “I must first thank Fleetwood Town for their assistance is sorting the details of the loan out quickly in time for Jamie to be eligible tomorrow.

“We have been actively looking to strengthen the squad as we are a little bit short on numbers and have an important run of games coming up.

“We have Blinks (Matty Blinkhorn) coming back from injury but bringing in Jamie allows us to reintroduce him at a rate that will be beneficial to everyone in the long term.

“Being local, Jamie is someone who has been on the radar for some time and once I knew he was potentially available to get out and play some games I was really keen to make it happen.

“I’ve watched him several times in Fleetwood’s Development Squad and he has looked fit, strong and really sharp and we can’t wait to get working with him. “For him, it’s an opportunity to play some first team football and put himself in the shop window if you like. Hopefully he’ll hit the ground running and add more threat in front of goal for us.

“We have been potent in terms of goal scoring this season but when quality becomes available and can be added to the squad, it’s important we take that opportunity.

“I’m sure everyone will give Jamie a warm welcome tomorrow as we strive to ensure we’re in that draw on Monday morning.”
