It’s the start of the busy Christmas schedule in the Vanarama National League.

A win last Saturday against Curzon Ashton ensured the Coasters were through to the Second Round of the FA Trophy – where Southport will be the visitors to Mill Farm.

This weekend, Jim Bentley and his side turn their attention back to the league. The visitors will be Yeovil Town – who come to the Fylde Coast in good form.

With a busy schedule on the horizon, Bentley will need to utilise the full squad at his disposal.

New signing, Andy Kellett has bolstered his options whilst Kurt Willoughby is nearing a return. Jordan Williams will miss out through suspension until New Year’s Day.

The Opposition

Name: Yeovil Town

Form: WWWDD

Nickname: The Glovers

Ground: Huish Park

League Position: 2nd

Yeovil have been in terrific form in the first-half of the Vanarama National League season – with the Glovers sitting three points behind leaders Barrow.

After being relegated last season from League Two, they’re looking to bounce back at the first time of asking.

Often when teams come down from the Football League, they struggle to get going, but Yeovil have done the opposite, and will be hopeful to remain in the promotion mix.

In charge of the Glovers is manager, Darren Sarll. The former Stevenage boss took the Yeovil Job in June of this year and he has hit the ground running.

One To Watch

This week’s one to watch is striker, Rhys Murphy.

Murphy has been instrumental in Yeovil’s good form this season – scoring 15 goals in 19 appearances for the Glovers.

He started his career at Arsenal as a youngster, before having spells on loan at Brentford and Preston. Murphy only started to get going when he signed for Dagenham & Redbridge, where he scored 14 goals in 38 appearances.

Since then it has been stop start for Murphy, with him not really settling down at a club until signing for the Glovers in the summer – which has left him joint top goal scorer of the National League.

Head-to-Head

Saturday’s fixture will be the second time the two sides have met – with Yeovil narrowly coming out on top in a 3-2 victory at Huish Park.
