The AFC Fylde Community Foundation is approaching one year in partnership with Kirkham based Kepak Convenience Foods, home to Rustlers.

The partnership recently helped 18 young adults achieve nationally recognised qualifications in leadership through physical activity. The 16-18 year old scholars were put through their paces by the Foundation over 12 weeks to achieve their own AQA qualifications in leadership.

To celebrate the success of the young adults, James Grimston from Rustlers visited AFC Fylde during a match day to present the participants with their qualification certificates on the pitch.

The Foundation’s partnership with Rustlers is focused on helping to sustain legacies around leadership and help young adults be more physically active throughout the local community that they live and work.

Foundation Director Tom Hutton is delighted that the Foundation is able to support their local community with the help of local businesses and said “We are starting to approach 1 year of our partnership with Rustlers and what a journey it has been so far.”

“The support of the team at Rustlers is really allowing the Foundation to deliver great work within the local community. We are encouraging and enabling these young adults to gain qualifications through something they are passionate about and it’s great to see local businesses are happy to support this work.”
