After an impressive Lancashire Cup win over Leyland Albion last weekend the focus turned back to the league for Simon Hurst’s Youth Squad.   After two dissapointing results they faced a side who’s first team are in the Conference Premier, Altrincham.

The lads started brightly and a name that may be know to a few Fylde fans, Jordan Milligan, set up the first goal with a superb free kick that Owen Futter finished well.  George Fox added a second shortly after and this took YS into half time 2-0 up.

After the half time interval we continued to dominate and it didnt take long before Man of the Match Milligan scored himself direct from a free kick.

Altrincham replied with a scrappy goal-line scramble before Chris Clinch bagged his first in a Fylde shirt with a nice finish after a superb run through the middle.

But the best was certainly saved until last as Rob Hanslip scored his third goal of the season.  After fantastic chest control, he turned the centre half before striking the ball with real power from the edge of the box into the far corner.

Milligan received the plaudits but it really could have been any of the squad of 16.

Squad: Squires, Townsend, Corbett, Cookson, Mullarkey, Milligan, Futter, Anderson, Hothersall, Willder, Clinch, Hanslip, Catterson, Carpenter, Fox, Heyes.
