The Coasters return back to Mill Farm this weekend on the back of three away games. The Coasters accumulated four points out of a possible nine. Four of those points came against teams in the surrounding area and will be key in keeping Fylde away from a proper relegation battle.

Last time out the Coasters managed to pick up a point on the road against Kidderminster Harriers, A well worked move was finished off by Nick Haughton who gave the Coasters the lead just before half-time. However, the Coasters could not hang on and Amari Morgan-Smith scored for the Harriers late on to share the points between the two sides.

Letting leads slip has been the story of the season for Fylde and was something that occurred in the previous fixture between the two sides. If the Coasters had managed to keep these leads, they could’ve found themselves higher up the table. But with seven games to go the Coasters will just be looking to keep getting points and finish as high as possible.

The Opposition

The Stones currently sit just above the relegation zone and are constantly looking over there shoulder making sure they don’t slip into the relegation zone. However, unlike every other side in the relegation battle, Wealdstone have five games in hand on most teams. Most of these games in hand are at home which will be crucial in their need for survival as it means less travel up and down the country.

However, with them playing Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday on at least one occasion tiredness could prove an issue. The Stones travel to Mill Farm unbeaten in three during ninety minutes of football, unfortunately losing in the FA Trophy on penalties last time out to Solihull.

Wealdstone currently have the best defence in the bottom half which has been represented in recent results as they have been hard to beat and proved a worthy match for any side. Saturday’s game should be a close contest with the best attack in the bottom half going against the best defence in the bottom half.

National League

Wealdstone 3 vs 2 AFC Fylde

Goalscorers: Stones – Tavhon Campbell (X2), Nathan Ferguson.  Fylde- Nick Haughton, Gold Omatayo

Classic Clash

The only meeting between these two sides came earlier on in the season when Wealdstone came from behind to gain 3 points against 10 men. Nick Haughton scored from the halfway line in an incredible strike. However, it did not gain any points with Wealdstone scoring in the 99th minute to gain all 3 points.

Key Players

Charlie Barker – The Rotherham-born defender seems to have found a home at Wealdstone after impressing in loans in the past Barker made the move permanent in the summer. Starting in all games so far this season Barker seems like mr reliable at the back which can be seen with his man of the match performance against Eastleigh.

Max Kretzschmar – A familiar face to fans of the national league, famously for his influence on the rise of Woking FC. A midfielder with the eye for goal Kretzschmar definitely knows what he’s doing in the middle of the park and will cause a handful for the Coasters midfield.

Sean Adarkwa – The Stones top scorer and a handful upfront could cause the Coasters a big problem this weekend. 10 goals for the season is quite impressive especially after only 25 games. Averaging nearly every other game.
