Committed support is providing food for thought for the team at AFC Fylde Community Foundation.

Thanks to the support of local company, Kepak Convenience Foods, the Foundation can continue devising and developing innovative physical activity and health and wellbeing programmes for young people across the Fylde.

The backing means the Foundation will be providing community sport programmes free of charge for young adults aged between 16-24. They will be working in high school and sixth-form settings including Carr Hill High School; Lytham St Annes High School; and Pear Tree Sixth Form Centre.

As a direct result of the partnership support, the programme is set to engage with more than 90 individuals, providing them all with the opportunity to take part in community sport and activity sessions such as football, athletics, team games and invasion games.

As an additional bonus and celebration of the free physical activity sessions, the Foundation are set to host a special event in May 2019. A large-scale activity day at the new Fylde Sports and Education Centre, at Mill Farm, will bring the community together as a whole in a positive environment promoting sport across the Fylde.

Foundation Director Tom Hutton says the collaboration with Kepak Convenience Foods is benefiting many young people in the community. He said: “As a charity, we could not be more grateful for the generous support from Kepak.

“It is such a well-established and respected brand and we place enormous value on the fact they understand what we want to achieve and are committed to helping us do it.

“The support they provide enables us to help people in the community through the power of sport, and for that we are incredibly grateful.”

James Grimston from Kepak says: “We’re delighted to have renewed our partnership with the AFC Fylde Community Foundation. It’s a fantastic community scheme and we’re committed to helping them educate youngsters on the benefits of an active healthy lifestyle and increase participation in sport across the local area.”
