The highly successful Sports and Performing Arts Academy’s run by AFC Fylde Community Foundation are set to return during October half-term, and promises to be even bigger and better.
Delivered in collaboration with the Frank Whittle Partnership (FWP) Group, the half term Academy’s are a modern twist on the usual half-term camps. The sports camp focuses on a variety of sports and games with the aim to enable participants to progress, have fun and meet new friends along the way whilst the Arts Academy offers a great alternative to activities for the children who do not want to partake in the sports.
The innovative Academy’s will provide young people in the local community with sessions that are both enjoyable and educational throughout the school break.
The Foundation’s Senior Physical Activity Officer, Dan Cookson will be running the Academy’s with other members of the team and is eagerly awaiting its return. He said: “Following on from the success of last year, I’m very confident about the upcoming programme.
“We are offering the children not just a half-term camp but something they can come along to and leave each day feeling they’ve really achieved something, improved their skills and had a great time doing so.”
The two Academy’s will take place from 30th October – 3rd November at Kirkham St Michaels Primary School starting at 9am every day and finishing at 5pm, with an option to leave at 12:30pm for those children that are not able to complete a full day.
