AFC Fylde play their final pre-season fixture on Tuesday evening when Blackburn Rovers visit Kellamergh Park. (7.30pm)

The Coasters go into the game on the back of a 1-1 draw at Skelmersdale United with Dion Charles on the scoresheet. Charles has impressed throughout pre-season and will be looking to have another solid game this Tuesday. The Skem result means that Fylde have won three, drawn three and lost one during their pre-season campaign and Blackburn will prove to be the final test for Dave Challinor’s men.

Blackburn Rovers U21’s have had a mixed pre-season so far with wins against Burscough and Knaresborough but more recently they have been defeated 2-1 away at Bamber Bridge and most recently they lost 1-0 away at Coasters local rivals Chorley. This is also the final pre-season fixture for Blackburn before their first league fixture against Derby County on Monday August 10th.

TEAM NEWS

Summer signing Matty Hughes may play a part after a toe injury sustained at Nantwich Town and Caspar Hughes could be back in contention for a starting place after having a routine nose operation last week. Boss Dave Challinor should have a full team to choose from and the starting 11 he picks for this game could be a resemblance of the side he picks for the opening game of the National North season on Saturday August 8th away at Solihull Moors.

Blackburn will field a youthful side of similar ilk to Bolton Wanderers when they came to Kellamergh Park last week. Players to watch out for from Damian Johnson’s side are centre halves Mark Edgar and Sam Lavelle, wingers Connor Mahoney and Devarn Green along with strikers Jordan Preston, Dean Rittenberg and Luke Wall.
