‘Re-Born To Be Fylde’ is a feature in our match day programme, where we get to know you, the supporters, a bit better!

Taking a look back on the series throughout the season, we begin with Simon Kenny who is part of our loyal ‘Sheffield Supporters Club’, who had give their thoughts ahead of the home match with Sutton United on 10.12.19.

How did you come to support AFC Fylde?

All the lads in our local pub “The Railway” in Sheffield have always followed AFC Fylde’s results every Saturday and they feature in our goals galore bets as our banker! Earlier this year we had a 67th birthday coming up for Billy (who got us all into following Fylde) so we planned a surprise away day trip to Mill Farm for the Sutton match in the President’s Club. The game as you know was called off but Johnathon Eighteen invited us along for our meal as we had already arrived in Kirkham. Got to say we were all blown away with the hospitality, the stadium and all the people we met!

Did you use to support another team?

5 of us are Blades fans and 2 are Wednesday fans (makes for an interesting away day lol)

What’s your pre-match routine?

Arrive at the railway for 8am, have a few cheeky beers and some bacon butties then minibus to Mill Farm!

What’s your favourite thing about supporting the Coasters?

The stadium, the management team and chairman and of course the fans we have met!

What’s been your best day as a Fylde fan?

Experiencing the stadium, as we’ve not seen a match yet! We rescheduled for the Notts County match and guess what… it was called off for the FA Cup, you couldn’t write it! However, we are buzzing for the away trip to Bramall Lane in the cup and we are all going in the away end to follow Fylde! We have penciled in several more home games for the rest of the season, as Fylde is infectious!

Who do you see as our biggest rivals?

The National League is a tough league so we see every other club as rivals, however it would be great to get that promotion and keep building the attendances home and away.
