‘Re-Born To Be Fylde’ is a feature in our match day programme, where we get to know you, the supporters, a bit better!

Due to the cancellation of many match days, we’re posting some of the entries throughout the season and some new entries too! Any Fylde fans that would like to answer the questions below and send them to us, please do!

We’re pleased to be able to feature Jordan Dodd, today.

How did you come to support AFC Fylde?

I first heard about AFC Fylde after the FA Vase win in 2008 and started researching stuff about the club. I didn’t go to my first game until 7 years later. A 4-4 draw against Skem in the FA Trophy.

Do you/did you support another team?

No, went to the odd Blackpool with family before hearing about Fylde.

What’s your pre-match routine?

Get on the train in Layton and meet my brother in Poulton before heading to Kirkham. Normally grad a bite to eat before going into the ground.

What’s your favourite thing about supporting the Coasters?

Everything. It’s always a good laugh with the other Fylde fans, especially on the away days.

What’s been your best day as a Fylde fan?

There’s a couple… Sheffield United is up there, as well as Wigan in the FA cup. All time favourite is probably Halifax away in 2017, pretty much won the league that day. Even if we did have half a window on the journey back.

Which goal sent you the craziest of all the ones you’ve seen?

Rowey’s goal at Halifax in 2017, Rowey’s penalty at home to Wigan in the FA Cup, Williams at Sheffield United. Too many to mention!

Who do you see as our biggest rivals?

Until a couple of years ago I’d have said Barrow and Chorley but last couple of seasons Stockport seem to have some weird hatred towards us so I’d say they’re up there now as well.

Who is your favourite all time Coasters player?

Either Sam Finley or Adam Sumner. Finley was all round quality and Sumner plays the same position as me so I always watched him closely.

What are you doing to stay entertained at the moment, during the current lockdown across the country?

I’ve been playing a lot of football manager. Slightly addicted to my current Fylde save, even if I did just get beat in the play off semis by Stockport…

What are you missing the most about the club?

Everything, waking up at silly o’clock to watch us away, and even travelling on the train to watch us at Mill Farm. I can’t wait to be on the east terrace again!
