Tamworth vs AFC Fylde

AFC Fylde can secure their place in the play-offs with three points on Saturday at Tamworth.
The Coasters may not even need another point if Nuneaton Town fail to win away at Gloucester City on Tuesday night, however a victory for the Coasters would see a play-off spot confirmed for the second season running, regardless of other results.
Results this week couldn’t have gone much better, starting with our 1-0 victory over Bradford Park Avenue at Kellamergh Park on Monday night. The Coasters battled in dreadful weather conditions to claim all three points courtesy of a 25-yard thunderbolt from Stephen Crainey – his first goal since joining the club in December.
Tuesday night’s fixtures elsewhere were equally positive for the Coasters with promotion hopefuls Harrogate Town and Nuneaton drawing a blank in their match, whilst third-placed North Ferriby United went down 2-0 against Stalybridge Celtic. Ferriby’s defeat also saw Solihull Moors crowned league champions.
Tamworth still harbour hopes of a late play-off push but realistically would need a victory against Fylde on Saturday to keep their hopes alive.
The Lambs suffered a disappointing defeat last time out when they were beaten 2-1 away at relegation-threatened Hednesford Town.
The hosts have hit a sticky run of form at the wrong time with three defeats in their last four outings, the only victory recently coming in a 2-1 win over Chorley.
Dion Charles gave the Coasters an early lead in the previous meeting between the sides back in September with a well taken effort from just inside the box, before Elliott Durrell brought the scores level on 67 minutes.
However, just four minutes later Matt Blinkhorn restored Fylde’s lead a towering header from a Richie Baker corner before the impressive Durrell grabbed his second of the afternoon to extend Tamworth’s unbeaten start to the season.
