Next up for the Coasters is a pre-season trip to face local side, Squires Gate FC!

Managed by Luke Evans, the Gate have already been in competitive action this season. In front of a national audience live on the BBC, the Blackpool-based outfit put on a display to remember as they defeated Maine Road FC five-nil, in the FA Cup Extra Preliminary Round.

Founded in 1948, the Coasters regularly take on Squires Gate who are just down the road from Mill Farm, in Blackpool. The club play in the Premier Division of the North West Counties Football League, which is ninth tier of English football.

Jim Bentley’s side have so far played two pre-season friendlies, with the Gaffer impressed with the level of performance and early signs of fitness that his side have shown. Two away trips to Wigan Athletic and Warrington Town haven’t brought a ‘win’ as such for his side, but that’s not what pre-season has been about so far. All of the side have had opportunities to play as they look to gain vital minutes on the grass, along with a number of trialists that have both started and finished the match as the Coasters look to finalise their squad.

The trip to Squires Gate will be interesting for all, as fans are [currently] allowed to attend the match with tickets on sale directly from the home side, by CLICKING HERE.
