AFC Fylde will be looking for back-to-back victories this weekend when they travel to old rivals Solihull Moors
The Coasters secured a fantastic victory during midweek over high-flying Wrexham. The Welsh side arrived at Mill Farm in third place in the table, aiming for a club record sixth consecutive away clean sheet, however their hopes were dashed just eight minutes in when Jonny Smith was the first to react after Chris Dunn had spilt Danny Rowe’s powerful free-kick.
Dave Challinor’s side dominated throughout and Jack Muldoon made sure of the points late on with a sensational solo goal. See full stats. (Article continues below)
The 2-0 victory over Wrexham brought about a third clean sheet in the last four games for the Coasters. Watch the highlights here.
Fylde remain in 19th place in the National League table with 19 points from 16 games, however Challinor’s side have a game in hand following last weekend’s abandoned match against Maidstone United.
Solihull have endured a difficult start to the season and currently prop up the table with 11 points from their 17 games.
They cut short a run of seven league games without a win with an impressive 2-1 victory away at Eastleigh on Tuesday evening.
Solihull’s poor start to the campaign cost Liam McDonald his job at the helm and he was soon replaced by experienced manager Richard Money.
Money claimed his first league win in charge at Eastleigh – goals from Jermaine Hylton and Oladapo Afolayan were enough for the visitors, despite a second-half Ben Williamson finish.
Fylde and Solihull have enjoyed a friendly rivalry over recent years, having gone head-to-head for the National League title in 2015-16. Solihull eventually came out on top, doing the double over the Coasters on their way to lifting the title.
