Gloucester City  v AFC Fylde

Saturday 17th December, 2016, k/o 3:00pm

Whaddon Road

National League North

AFC Fylde will be hoping to bounce back from the shock 4-0 defeat at Brackley Town in midweek when they travel to Gloucester City on Saturday.

The match will be our second trip to Whaddon Road in just three weeks following last month’s victory over Gloucester in the FA Trophy.

The Coasters ran out 3-2 winners in the previous meeting thanks to a Danny Rowe hat-trick and progressed to the first round of the competition. However, the cup run was cut short on Tuesday evening as Fylde were well beaten by Brackley.

Attention switches back to the league this weekend and the Coasters remain seven points clear of the pack in the National League North.

Dave Challinor’s side sealed a narrow 2-1 victory over Worcester City last time out in the league, with Rowe netting his 100th goal for the club.

Gloucester are on a disappointing run of form having lost their last five games in a row in all competitions. Their last victory in the league came away at Alfreton Town in early November.

Fylde top scorer Rowe will be hoping to add to his 30 league goals this season, whilst Luke Hopper leads the way for Gloucester with 10 strikes.

The clubs currently occupying the play-off places all face each other this weekend with third-placed Chorley hosting four-placed Tamworth and second-placed Kidderminster Harriers taking on fifth-placed Darlington.
