AFC Fylde turn their focus back towards cup competition again tomorrow evening when they face Clitheroe in the LFA Challenge Trophy.

The Coasters have enjoyed a fantastic start to the league season but have struggled on the cup front, prematurely exiting both the FA Cup and FA Trophy.

Fylde were knocked out of the LFA Trophy in the previous round last year, but made sure of their passage through to the quarter-finals this time around with a convincing 6-2 victory over AFC Darwen.

Debutant Serhat Tasdemir was the star of the show, netting a fine hat-trick at Mill Farm, whilst goals from Matt Blinkhorn (2) and Richie Baker sealed the result.

Clitheroe, of the Evo-Stik League Northern Premier – First Division North, sealed their place in the quarters with a 4-2 victory away at AFC Blackpool.

The hosts are in a fantastic run of form and are currently unbeaten in their last eight. Clitheroe sit fourth in the league standings, just three points behind leaders Lancaster City.

The winners of tomorrow night’s tie will face Radcliffe Borough in the semi-finals at the County Ground (Lancashire FA) on February 28th (k/o 7:45pm)
