AFC Fylde vs Salford City

Tuesday 23th August, 2016, k/o 7:45pm

Mill Farm

Vanarama National League North

The Coasters will be hoping to continue their fantastic start to the season when they face Salford City.

Dave Challinor’s side have picked up an impressive 10 points from a possible 12 so far this term, only dropping points against Brackley Town in the first ever game at Mill Farm.

An unprecedented 11 goals over the past week has seen the Coasters rise to the top of the scoring charts and tomorrow they come up against the tightest defence.

Salford have conceded just once in their opening four games however the Coasters have scored double their number of goals thanks to a 6-0 victory over Altrincham and a 5-3 win at Alfreton at the weekend.

Anything other than a defeat would see the Coasters go top of the league whilst a victory for the Ammies would see them topple current leaders Halifax Town.

An opening day draw against Gloucester has been followed up by three consecutive victories and clean-sheets for Salford consisting of 1-0 wins over FC United and Nuneaton and a 4-0 drubbing of local rivals Stalybridge Celtic.

Fylde’s Danny Rowe is a man in form and has six goals in his four games so far – one less than Salford have scored in total.

Team news:
Midfielder Sam Finley is available after completing his four-match suspension. Three players suffered injury at Alfreton at the weekend – goalkeeper Rhys Taylor is due to have a scan on his calf, Brendon Daniels could miss the next three games with a knee injury whilst George Newell pulled out of warm up with a sore ankle.
