Tonight’s clash sees last season’s champions go head-to-head at Mill Farm.

The Coasters cruised to title glory in the National League North last April, whilst Maidenhead topped the south division, pipping our weekend opponents Ebbsfleet United to the crown by two points.

Dave Challinor’s National League new boys have made a solid start to the new campaign with three consecutive draws. 

They were denied their first victory of the season on Saturday, despite twice leading down in the south east against Ebbsfleet.

The Coasters raced into a two-goal lead courtesy of first goals of the season for Henry Jones and Danny Rowe, however their hosts had brought the game level by the half-hour mark in a dramatic opening.

Fylde midfielder Sam Finley restored the visitor’s advantage five minutes later and just as it looked as though the Coasters would hold on for the three points, Andy Drury drilled home in the last minute to earn a share of the spoils.

Maidenhead kicked off their league campaign with a 1-1 draw at Maidstone United, before suffering a 2-1 home defeat against Wrexham.

The Magpies sealed their first three points of the season at the weekend with an impressive 2-1 victory over newly-relegated Hartlepool United.

Maidenhead striker Dave Tarpey will be the one to watch this evening. The frontman netted an astonishing 44 goals last term to break the National League South goalscoring record.
