AFC Fylde vs Curzon Ashton

Monday 28th December, 2015 (kick-off 3pm)

Kellamergh Park

National League North

The Coasters have enjoyed an extended Christmas break following the cancelation of the last two matches due to the recent weather conditions.

Dave Challinor’s side were due to play Skelmersdale United last Tuesday and Chorley FC on Boxing Day, but on both occasions the pitches were deemed unplayable.

The weather has been a major factor recently as last time out AFC Fylde suffered a disappointing 2-1 defeat in horrendous conditions, whilst seeing yet another player forced off through injury – Richie Baker becoming the latest in a long line of injury woes for Challinor.

The manager will be hoping that Baker is available this afternoon, whilst Matty Hughes could be involved after missing the visit of Solihull.

Tom Hannigan has missed much of the season so far with a knee problem, but is expected back early in the new year. Brad Barnes could potentially be involved in Challinor’s squad today.

However, Challinor did bolster his ranks at the weekend with the signing of former Manchester City and Crystal Palace striker Fisayo Adarabioyo and he is likely to be involved.

Today’s visitors, who currently sit 10th in the league table, also fell afoul of the weather last time out and had to postpone their home match against Stalybridge Celtic.

Title rivals Solihull Moors took full advantage of their match on Boxing Day and beat league leaders Nuneaton Town 3-1 to return to the top of the pile themselves.

High-flyers Harrogate Town also picked up three points and there is now just four points between the top six teams in the league as we head into the final match of the year.
