Coasters to take on National League side at Mill Farm, this weekend.

AFC Fylde vs Altrincham FC

Mill Farm

3pm Kick-Off

Pre-Season Friendly

Jim Bentley’s side will play the final pre-season fixture they have scheduled this weekend, at home to National League side Altrincham FC.

Following Tuesday’s cancelled friendly with Salford City, the Coasters will be playing their fifth and final pre-season match before the FA Cup 2nd Round Qualifying clash next weekend, with the opponents and location TBC.

Alty arrive at Mill Farm having swapped divisions with AFC Fylde. The resumption of the play-offs in the National League North for the 19/20 campaign saw Phil Parkinson’s side secure promotion, against the odds. The Manchester-based outfit deserve huge credit for the way they approached the play-offs and ultimately showed that they had the nerve to get over the line, defeating Chester, York City and Boston United along their way to promotion.

The Robins – like the Coasters – have also played four pre-season friendlies thus far, with a mixed bag of results. They began in early September with a 1-0 victory over Nantwich Town, before losing 4-3 to Curzon Ashton just a few days later. Next up was a convincing 4-0 victory over a Huddersfield Town B side, before again being defeated, this time against Alfreton Town, 2-0 just a few days on.

With both teams looking to gain a confidence boosting victory this weekend, it is set to be an entertaining match. Unfortunately, with all the current guidelines and the rules in place, the match will be played behind-closed-doors.

We are however delighted to be able to welcome back our ‘Coasters Live’ coverage, with full-match commentary to be broadcast free of charge for our loyal fanbase to listen in.

As always, there will be alternative options such as live social media coverage and reaction on afcfylde.co.uk after the game.
