Coasters captain Alex Whitmore was a product of Burnley’s youth system, where he gained first-team experience out on loan at Chester and Gateshead.

Following the experience in the National League, Whitmore made the step up to the Football League with Morecambe on loan, where he made 43 appearances for The Shrimps.

After spells with Bury, Chesterfield, and Grimsby Town, Whitmore signed for the Coasters in the Summer of 2019.

Alex, a tall, dominant central defender, has firmly established himself as a key figure in the heart of The Coasters defence.
