As we get closer to completion at Mill Farm, we get to know the people involved and their roles in the project.

Eddie Stevens is Project Manager for the development and has more than his share of experience in the industry.

“I have known the Chairman David for a long time and he got in touch a while back about coming on board with the project. When I saw the plans and the ambition it was an opportunity that I couldn’t turn down.

“I had my own company, Fylde Interiors, for 25 years doing refurbishment work and this was something that excited me.”

Based in Thistleton, Eddie talks us through his role and key responsibilities: “I wake up to an email from David at 6:30am then a phone call at 7am and then another on the hour every hour after that! In all seriousness the job is none stop as we aim to get everything finished and open on time.

“We will take on a shell building from Warden Construction and then it’s our job to fit the whole thing out. From the bars and restaurants to the changing rooms and toilets and everything in between.

“It’s my job to coordinate all the sub trades, order products and take deliveries amongst other things. For example we have ordered £60,000’s worth of specialist doors and we have to make sure the quality is right and up to our standards. Everything is the same, we are fitting out to a high quality and it’s vital we check everything.

“The pressing job at the moment is to get Bradley’s Sports Bar finished in time for the June opening. We are also doing the surrounding toilets and The Cafe at the same time so there’s plenty to keep us busy!”

“It has been enjoyable but at the same time extremely challenging. But I’m sure it will all be worth it when we are finished.”
