THIS week has been monumental for Mill Farm with the “Silver Spade” ceremony taking place which saw Fylde Mayor and lifelong Coasters’  fan Councillor Peter Hardy officially launch construction work.

As you will know, in order to get the facilities ready for action in summer 2016, preparation work has been going ahead since the turn of the year

At the ceremony, club officials were joined by key partners in the building development, which took place as work continued around the site.

The road which will become the entrance to the site is now tarmaced and currently 150 metres long with drainage also installed. As soon as the green light is given by council officials, the main entrance off the Wesham roundabout will be opened and the current temporary entrance on Fleetwood Road closed.
