The Coasters came unstuck at home to higher league opposition for the second time this summer as they fell to a narrow 2-1 defeat to Conference Premier side Wrexham this afternoon.

Fylde actually took the lead through Tom Hannigan’s second goal in as many games on 27 minutes but the visitors equalised six minutes later when Connor Jennings got the final touch in a goal mouth scramble.

Then just 64 seconds into the second half, Louis Moult met Wes York’s low cross to divert it into Fylde’s net from six yards for what turned out to be the winning goal.
