The Rearranged visit of AFC Telford United ended all square, with Jorome Slew’s late equaliser earning a point for the Coasters at Mill Farm.

Jason Oswell had the visitors ahead midway through the first half when he tapped in from close range after Devarn Green slipped the ball across the face of goal.

Most of the chances came for Fylde in the second half, and they eventually found the equaliser when Stephen Dobbie zipped a ball across goal for Slew to smash into the back of the net, earning a point for his side.

James Rowe made two changes from Saturday’s game for his first fixture at Mill Farm, which saw Dan Pike come in to replace Emeka Obi and a return from injury for Danny Whitehead, who replaced Jorome Slew.

Telford, without creating a clear-cut opportunity, almost had the opener when a free-kick whipped into the area unexpectedly hit a dark blue head and bounced off the bar before Nick Haughton cleared the danger.

With the early scare in mind, the first corner of the game was awarded to the Coasters. Haughton drove a ball into the area and towards Harry Davis, who was inches away from thumping a header into the back of the net.

However, first blood went to the visitors when quick distribution from Luke Pilling allowed Devarn Green in behind Jamie Stott, who slid a ball across the face of goal to Jason Oswell and he tapped into an empty net.

From then, the Bucks looked likely to extend their lead, and Oswell headed in from close range, but James Rowe’s side were relieved to see the linesman’s flag up on the far side of the pitch.

Half-Time: AFC Fylde 0-1 AFC Telford United

With very few chances in the second half, the ones that came fell the Coasters’ way. First, Haughton floated a corner into the six-yard box, which Jamie Stott met and had his header cleared off the line.

Moments later, Tom Walker found space to line a fierce strike up, which was arrowing into the top corner, but Pilling got across well to tip over.

It was all Fylde in the second half, and Rowe’s men found the equaliser they were searching for when a ball to the back post was slid across the face of goal where Jorome Slew was waiting to smash home.
