Second placed AFC Fylde travel to tenth placed Worcester City on Tuesday night looking to regain first position in the Conference North league table with a victory at Aggborough.

The Coasters go into this game on the back of a 2-2 draw away at local rivals Chorley on Saturday in which Fylde took the lead courtesy of a Danny Rowe strike, before scoring an 88th minute equaliser through substitute Dion Charles to rescue a point.

March has seen The Coasters play three games and they’ve all been away from Kellamergh Park. One win, one draw and one defeat has meant it’s been a mixed month so far although with four points from the last two games, things are looking up.

Fylde will go top with a win against Worcester, as top of the table Barrow don’t play until the weekend. Worcester meanwhile could potentially move up into seventh place with a win, although a Coasters defeat will be far from the mind of the Fylde players who have had to play away from home for four successive games.

The Blues have seen veteran defender Wayne Thomas swap Worcester for New York this week, as he takes up a coaching position at New York Red Bulls for their MLS campaign.

On the field, Worcester have won their last two league matches against Gainsborough Trinity and more recently Solihull Moors on Saturday and they’re currently four games unbeaten in the league.

They’ve played one less game than The Coasters but are some way off catching Fylde, although a play-off place is not out of the question. However, they face Barrow and Boston United after The Coasters visit Aggborough, so Worcester face a challenge in the upcoming weeks to maintain that top five dream.

The previous match between these two sides this season at Kellamergh Park ended 4-0 to the Coasters back in September, with Josh Langley and Mike Barnes scoring & Richie Allen bagged a brace.

The match will kick off at 7:45PM.
