It’s pastures new once again for The Coasters on Saturday as they travel down to Oxfordshire to face Oxford City in the Vanarama Conference North. The two sides have never met before and it’ll be a great test for Fylde as they look to carry on their good start to the season.

Fylde have had a really good start to the season and find themselves in 5th place in the league table before this game, having won three games and drawing one out of their first six games.

The Coasters and Oxford have had a similar start to the season, with Fylde on 10 points and Oxford on 9.

However, Oxford’s form isn’t typical in football terms as they have been stronger away from home than at home.

Their three home games so far against Worcester, Chorley and Gloucester have all been drawn whilst The City have beaten Hyde and Solihull Moors away from home. Most recently, they suffered defeat away to Harrogate Town but it was only by the odd goal.

The City have had a much more successful start to this season than they finished last. They narrowly avoided relegation from the Conference North last season, finishing third bottom on 37 points.

In fact, the only reason that they weren’t relegated was that Vauxhall Motors resigned from the league, giving their place back to Oxford. However, they look to have significantly improved in this campaign so far.

The return game with The Coasters is on January 17th 2015.

Admission for this game is £11 for adults, £6 for concessions, £3 for students and entry is free for under 16’s as part of Oxford City’s special Non League Day offer.

The match kicks off at 3pm at Marsh Lane, Oxford.
