AFC Fylde Women are back on the road this Sunday when they travel to Merseyside to face Liverpool Feds WFC at Jericho Lane.

This away fixture is scheduled for Sunday 11th February, with kick-off at 2.00 pm.

With nine games of the season remaining, Fylde’s Joint Managers Jake Williams and Steve Mainwaring are looking to get as many points on the board as possible in a bid to climb away from the foot of the table. After a challenging start to their tenure, Williams and Mainwaring have been encouraged by their team’s attitude and application over recent performances.

This weekend offers the Coasters another opportunity to pick up points when they visit Jericho Lane in Aigburth to take on Liverpool Feds.

When the two sides previously met back in October, it ended honours even after a thrilling midweek clash under the lights at Kellamergh Park. On that occasion, Fylde twice came from behind to rescue a 2-2 draw and earn a precious point for their efforts.

Leanne Duffy’s Feds proved to be tough opponents on the night. After a goalless first half, Paige Cole put the visitors ahead early in the second half, before Lily Murphy levelled for Fylde on the hour mark. Cole scored again to restore the Feds’ lead, but Murphy went on to grab a dramatic equaliser right at the death.

In the meantime, the Feds have continued their remarkable progress since their promotion from the fourth tier two years ago. On the back of their 2-0 victory at West Bromwich Albion last month, the Feds remain fourth in the FAWNL Northern Premier Division, having collected 18 points from 12 games played.

As the two sides prepare for the return fixture this weekend, the Coasters will have to perform at their best if they are to return from Merseyside with a positive result.
