AFC Fylde travel to Hyde in the Vanarama Conference North on Saturday looking to stay top of the league table after regaining top spot on Tuesday night.

The 3-0 home win against Boston United on Tuesday night sent The Coasters back to the top of the table with a one point lead over Barrow, while Fylde still have one game in hand over their promotion rivals.

Next up for The Coasters is bottom of the table Hyde, and although their league position doesn’t look great, they certainly cannot be underestimated as they managed to hold Barrow to a 4-4 draw in January.

Fylde managed to lose four games on the trot before the win over Boston and if The Coasters are to stay on track to win the league, a win away at Hyde this weekend is a must.

With 19 wins from their first 29 games, Fylde have been excellent for the majority of the season and they also boast the best goal difference in the division, +35. 

It’s been yet another turbulent season for Hyde as they sit bottom of the Conference North table, 14 points adrift of second bottom Bradford Park Avenue although BPA have five games in hand over The Tigers.

Hyde have won just two games all season but they’ve both been at Ewen Fields against North Ferriby and Lowestoft Town. The Tigers haven’t won in any competition since December 13th 2014 when they beat Spennymoor Town 4-2 in the FA Trophy.

The two most recent games for Hyde ended in defeat, as they lost their previous home game 3-1 to Boston United before a local derby defeat away at Stockport last Saturday.

This will be the first meeting of the two sides this season and the first meeting ever in any form of league action. 

 

The match will kick off at 3PM.

With tough games against Tamworth and Hednesford Town to follow, this game is a must win for The Coasters.
