The Coasters go into their Vanarama Conference North game at home to Gainsborough on a run of  four successive wins in all competitions and an even more impressive run of eight straight league wins.

The great run of form continues for Fylde, who have now won 10 of their last 11 games in all competitions and currently top of the league table, four points clear of local rivals Chorley.

This fine form sees The Coasters very high up on the form list throughout the whole of Europe. Fylde advanced to the Fourth Qualifying Round of the F.A. Cup last weekend after a hard fought 1-0 victory over Buxton at Kellamergh Park.

Not only are The Coasters top of the league table, they top the scoring charts, have conceded the fewest goals and have the largest positive goal difference.

They will look to carry on their fantastic form against a Gainsborough Trinity side who sit 14th in the league table on 15 points having won four of their 12 games so far this season.

Trinity beat Marine 4-0 last Saturday in the F.A. Cup Third Qualifying Round to set up a tie away at Gateshead in just over a week’s time. Gainsborough’s last three league results include a 2-1 victory over Stalybridge Celtic, a 2-1 loss at home to Worcester City and most recently, a 0-0 draw away to Harrogate.

The last time that the two sides met was in the F.A. Cup in 2011. The first leg finished 2-2 at Kellamergh Park, with the replay being won by the home side Gainsborough and Fylde’s F.A. Cup dream for that year ended. These two games are the only two games between these two sides since the re-branding as AFC Fylde in 2008, so Saturday’s game will be the first league encounter between the two sides.
