The Coasters come into their first away league game of 2024 looking to extend their unbeaten run in the league to 5 matches. An impressive win last time out at home to Bromley saw the Coasters gain 10 points from 12 marking a brilliant start to 2024.

A singular goal from Danny Ormerod saw the Coasters gain all 3 points in a game where Fylde were massive underdogs considering Bromley’s league position. With away form being Chris Beech’s downfall so far since taking charge, he and his side will be looking to amend this on Saturday in what is a relegation six-pointer.

The Coasters have also boosted their chance of survival by announcing the extension of Max Conway’s and Dan Adshead’s loans until the end of the season, both have been key players for the Coasters in the past few weeks.

The Coasters have also announced the signing of Ashley Hunter. Hunter is a player who can play in a multitude of attacking positions and boasts EFL and Non-League experiences which could be crucial in the upcoming weeks. With these additions to the squad, Chris Beech will be even more optimistic of going to Dorking and travelling back up north will all 3 points.

The Opposition

The Hosts come into this game with a mixed start to 2024, with 2 wins and 2 draws and also a heavy defeat in the FA Trophy. Marc White’s side currently sit in 18th, 5 points above the Coasters and a win this weekend will see them gain a bit of breathing space between the chasing relegation pack. A 0-3 away win last weekend at Boreham Wood saw the Wanderers pick up their 10th league win of the season which is the highest amount of any team in the bottom 9 and shows that Dorking know how to win but drawing games has been their downfall this season, drawing only 4 games. With this Saturday’s game being a massive game for both teams, a win is needed for both sides.

However, with a dominant away win last weekend, Marc will be looking for his side to make it 2 wins in a row for the first time since September. With Charlie Carter pulling the strings and with Jason Prior in good form, the Coasters will be up against it to gain anything this weekend.

Classic Clash

Last time out these two sides put on an absolute belter of a game in front of TNT Cameras, with the game finishing 3-3 at Mill Farm. If the previous match is anything to go off then this game could be the game of the season.

Key Players:

Barry Fuller – The 39-year-old is a key part of this Dorking side, showing off his experience at right-back whilst also being the captain. A key part in their promotion from the National League, keeping this man fit will be vital for the Wanderers this season.

Alfie Rutherford – The Striker who can also play in goal. A number 9 who knows where the goal is and is a key link-up player. Also featured in goal and kept a clean sheet when Dorking’s goalkeeper was sent off a couple of seasons ago.

Charlie Carter – The man in the middle has been a key player since signing for the Wanderers and is a crucial player in both boxes often scoring goals or keeping them out. If the Coasters can shut him down then they may be in for a successful afternoon.
