AFC Fylde Women welcome Boldmere St. Michaels Women FC to Kellamergh Park on Sunday for their final game of the 2022/23 season.

This home fixture takes place on Sunday 30th April, with kick-off at 2.00 pm. James Mallett’s Coasters are looking to end the season on a high and climb the table in the FAWNL Northern Premier Division.

Although the finish line may be in sight, the team will fully focus on getting all three points against already relegated Boldmere St. Michaels.

With only two points separating the teams from sixth and tenth, Fylde may yet have a say in the final standings this weekend.

Sunday’s game represents the third meeting between the two sides this season. In the reverse league fixture in early November, Fylde travelled to Sutton Coldfield on a good run of form. On that occasion, however, the newly promoted Mikes Women ran out convincing 3-0 winners with goals from Pip Wilson, Evie Billingsley and Lois Jefferies. It was a frustrating afternoon for the Coasters, who failed to score for the first time in eight games.

One month later, the Coasters hosted the Mikes Women in the Second Round of the FAWNL Plate at the start of December.

Kellamergh Park played host to a thrilling cup tie, which was eventually settled by a penalty shootout. With the scores level at 3-3 after extra time, Fylde triumphed 4-3 in the shootout to advance to the quarter-final of the Plate competition.

And if the previous meetings between the two sides are anything to go by, it should be another entertaining and hard-fought game on Sunday. Fans are invited to come along and join the celebrations at the end of another memorable season for the team.
