AFC Fylde’s mascots and juniors will be promoting a very special charity this weekend in the FA Cup in a bid to raise awareness of their profile.

Brian House is a specialist unit within Trinity Hospice specialising in palliative care for children.

It is a fully equipped hospice and caters entirely for children who live on Fylde Coast. As one of only a handful of local children’s hospices in the UK it currently supports over 80 families.

This weekend AFC Fylde’s mascots and junior shirts will be sporting the Brian House logo to help raise awareness of the centre which provides free of charge to children who need it, but costs over £1 million a year to run.

AFC Fylde Commercial Manager Dave Riche said: “We are keen to work with Brian House and help to promote their cause at our FA Cup game this weekend.

“Raising their profile is vital in terms of generating funds for them to operate a vital support service for something that is vital to the whole of the Fylde Coast.

“We hope that this can be start of us working together and we look forward to supporting such a worthwhile cause.”

Lisa Martin, Community Fundraiser said: “As the only local Fylde coast children’s hospice we are honoured that AFC Fylde have given us this amazing opportunity to increase the awareness of what Brian House Children’s Hospice is all about.

“We care for many local children and families within Blackpool, Fylde and Wyre and they will join us in wishing AFC Fylde as the best on Saturday. Come on you Coasters!!”
